Interviewer: The first question of this interview to you – Please tell me about poetry? What is your perception about poetry Sir?
Williamsji Maveli: Poetry is the most well expressed influence of communities and the individuals in our society. It spans culture, beliefs, and attributes the necessary constituents for corroborating how literature reflects, and portrays the community, the nation and the world itself. Poetry from literature reflects culture and its explanation of life in different civilization. To me, personally, poetry is pain from our own life.
Interviewer: You have been writing for a long time; tell us about your previously published books.
Williamsji Maveli: S.O.U.L.S (Spirituality Of Unknown Luminaries Symphony) is my first book of poetry published during year 2018. It is a collection of 150 poems divided into three parts: Salvation of Souls, Soliloquy of Souls and Songs of Souls, the second book has been titled as A.B.O.D.E (Aesthetic Bliss Of Divine Entity) followed by SCARS, ADRIANA INSPIRES, IN DEPTH, INSIGHT and so on. S.O.U.L.S book translation was performed by Poet Swati Khare and published with a title APP KI PUKKAR (Souls Call) in Hindi, India’s National language.
Interviewer: What was one of the most surprising things you learned in creating your books?
Williamsji Maveli: All Appreciations from my valuable readers are encouraging and inspiring. By way of that, I took up poetry reviewing, which is a controversial topic. Few publications review it, and with continually shrinking space for book reviews in general, poetry gets fewer column inches than ever, at least in print. And yet, there exists a long tradition of careful prose considerations of poetry.
Interviewer: What does poetry mean to you? Why do you write? Be descriptive please so that our visitors know about your writing career a little more.
Williamsji Maveli: Remember, Poetry is not something that can be answered within a thought process of few hours. But from personal experience, I used to write poetry when I was so miserable and panic in life. It started as a dilemma, and everyone said it was really good. Now that I am not miserable anymore, Instead, I am really confident to face life….Life is more precious than poetry, or rather poetry is itself is my own life. I am a poetree. Painful poetry by poet’s who have poured their darkest experiences and worded every feeling with a deep sense of longing will come up in life. The new generation should not be casual; they should have a serious outlook towards life. Moreover, they should learn to be polite, be submissive and simple too…
Interviewer: Which poets have inspired you? Do you feel yourself ever influenced by the writing style of a poet?
Williamsji Maveli: In poetry genre, my most favourite poets are, William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth, and Shelly. For Novel, I would love to read Arundhathi Roy’s ‘God of Small Things’, the Booker –prize winning novel again and again. It is one of her best novels. The God of Small Things is the first novel of Indian writer Arundhathi Roy. It is a story about the childhood experiences of fraternal twins whose lives were badly destroyed by the "Love Laws" that lay down "who should be loved, and how. And how much. The book explores how the small things affect people's behavior and their lives. It won the Booker Prize during year 1997. Also, I am much delighted to read again and again ‘ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF SOLITUDE’. One of the 20th century's enduring works, this is one of beloved and novel, The Nobel Prize winning book. The novel tells the story of the rise and fall of the mythical town of Macondo through the history of the Buendía family. It is a rich and brilliant chronicle of life and death, and the tragicomedy of humankind. Love and lust, war and revolution, riches and poverty, youth and senility — the variety of life, the endlessness of death, the search for peace and truth — these universal themes dominate the novel.
